The General Assistance program is intended to assist people who are in need and have no other resources available to them. G.A. provides assistance for basic necessities such as rent, food, personal and household supplies, medication, heating fuel, utilities and other essential services. All assistance granted is in voucher form and no cash assistance is granted. A written decision must be issued to the client within 24 hours of seeking assistance. Please call for an appointment.

Penquis Cap will be located in the Katahdin Region Higher Education Center by appointments only. Appointments may be made at www.penquis.org or by calling (207) 973-3630. Applicants must have a scheduled appointment to be seen on the dates listed below:
