Political Signs Placement Guidelines
Voter Registration – There are laws that may change some of the information below if these laws are passed in the coming year, so a potential voter may call the Town Office to make sure this information is still valid.
Forms needed – Proof of identity, such as a Maine Driver’s License or passport and proof of residency which may be the driver’s license if the correct address is on it. If the address is different on the Maine driver’s license the voter must provide proof of residency such as a utility bill, bank account statement or government document that shows their name and address. (State I.D.’s are NOT accepted as there is no expiration date)

Process – The voter may come in to the Town Office to register to vote with the proper identification and proof of residency or mail a registration in to the Town Office with their I.D. and proof of residency. The voter may also bring these documents to the polls on election day and register to vote at that time. There is a ‘closed period’ which begins at the close of business on the 21st day before Election Day, and during this time the voter must register in person and provide proof of identity and residency.
